Statement of Faith

What we believe
shapes what we do.

Legacy Ministries is rooted in the historic Christian faith and committed to the authority of Scripture and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Preamble

Legacy Ministries Dayton, Inc. is a non-denominational Christian ministry founded upon the Holy Scriptures and committed to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We affirm the historic Christian faith as revealed in the Bible and seek to glorify God by cultivating environments where people experience His manifest presence, grow in spiritual maturity, and faithfully serve His Kingdom.

This Statement of Faith establishes the doctrinal foundation for the ministry and serves as the theological standard for its Board of Directors, officers, employees, credentialed ministers, teachers, and ministry leaders.

Article I

The Holy Scriptures

We believe the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. The Scriptures are God’s complete written revelation and are the final authority for faith, doctrine, and Christian living.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”(2 Timothy 3:16–17)

Article II

The One True God

We believe there is one eternal and living God who exists eternally in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three Persons are equal in deity, glory, power, and majesty and together are worthy of all worship and obedience.

Article III

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man.

We believe that He:

  • Was conceived by the Holy Spirit.
  • Was born of the virgin Mary.
  • Lived a sinless life.
  • Performed miracles.
  • Died on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for the sins of humanity.
  • Rose bodily from the dead on the third day.
  • Ascended into heaven.
  • Intercedes for believers.
  • Will personally and visibly return to establish His Kingdom.

Jesus Christ alone is Lord, Savior, and Head of the Church.

Article IV

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and actively works in the lives of believers.

The Holy Spirit:

  • Convicts the world of sin.
  • Regenerates those who trust in Christ.
  • Indwells every believer.
  • Produces spiritual fruit.
  • Empowers believers for holy living and ministry.
  • Distributes spiritual gifts according to His will.
  • Glorifies Jesus Christ.

We believe believers are called to walk daily in dependence upon the Holy Spirit.

Article V

Humanity

We believe every person is created in the image of God and possesses inherent dignity and value.

Because of Adam’s fall, all people are sinners by nature and by choice and are separated from God apart from His saving grace.

Every individual therefore stands in need of redemption through Jesus Christ.

Article VI

Salvation

We believe salvation is entirely by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

Salvation cannot be earned through works, religious activity, or human merit.

Those who repent of sin and place their trust in Jesus Christ are forgiven, justified, regenerated, adopted into God’s family, and receive eternal life.

Article VII

The Church

We believe the universal Church consists of all believers who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ.

The Church exists to:

  • Worship God.
  • Proclaim the Gospel.
  • Make disciples.
  • Observe Christian ordinances.
  • Demonstrate God’s love.
  • Build up believers.
  • Advance the Kingdom of God throughout the world.

We encourage cooperation among Bible-believing churches while maintaining biblical truth.

Article VIII

Worship

We believe worship is the wholehearted response of redeemed people to the glory and goodness of God.

True worship encompasses every aspect of life and includes prayer, music, generosity, service, obedience, thanksgiving, and holy living.

We value excellence in worship while recognizing that genuine worship flows from transformed hearts rather than outward performance.

Article IX

The Presence of God

We believe God is present with His people through the indwelling Holy Spirit.

As believers gather in humility, prayer, faith, and obedience to Scripture, they may experience the transforming work of God’s presence.

Accordingly, Legacy Ministries Dayton, Inc. seeks to create environments that encourage reverent worship, biblical teaching, earnest prayer, and openness to the Holy Spirit’s work in accordance with Scripture.

Article X

Spiritual Gifts

We believe the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts for the building up of the Church and the advancement of the Gospel.

All spiritual gifts are to be exercised in love, humility, biblical order, and submission to the authority of Scripture.

No single spiritual gift is required as evidence of salvation.

Article XI

Christian Life

We believe every follower of Jesus Christ is called to:

  • Love God wholeheartedly.
  • Love others sacrificially.
  • Pursue holiness.
  • Practice forgiveness.
  • Live with integrity.
  • Walk in humility.
  • Serve faithfully.
  • Share the Gospel.
  • Grow continually in Christlikeness.

The Christian life is empowered by the Holy Spirit and characterized by increasing conformity to Jesus Christ.

Article XII

Marriage and Human Sexuality

We believe that God created humanity as male and female in His image.

We believe that marriage is a covenant established by God between one man and one woman and is intended to reflect Christ’s covenant love for His Church.

We affirm that every person is worthy of dignity, compassion, and respect and should be treated with the love of Christ.

We are committed to extending grace, truth, and pastoral care to all people while remaining faithful to our understanding of biblical teaching.

Article XIII

Sanctity of Human Life

We believe every human life is sacred from conception to natural death because every person bears the image of God.

Accordingly, we affirm the value, dignity, and worth of every human being.

Article XIV

The Return of Christ

We believe Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return.

He will judge the living and the dead, establish His everlasting Kingdom, and bring the purposes of God to their fulfillment.

Believers will enjoy eternal life in the presence of God, and those who reject Christ will experience eternal separation from Him.

Article XV

The Great Commission

We believe Jesus Christ has commissioned His followers to make disciples of all nations.

Legacy Ministries Dayton, Inc. therefore commits itself to proclaiming the Gospel, equipping believers, developing leaders, planting and strengthening ministries, serving local churches, and utilizing every appropriate means—including worship, education, media, and technology—to advance the Kingdom of God.

Article XVI
